Butterflies.
Beautiful, brightly coloured wonders that flutter around the garden bringing life and delight to both the eye and soul.
Put those little buggers in your stomach and it’s a whole different story.
We launch today.
We’re starting with Helen Chapman’s The Wizard, a terrific story about one woman’s quest for a true romance novel style hero. The lesson speaks to us all, while entertaining us with some fantasy, some history, and some real feel-good romance. I can’t think of a better way to start.
The queasy comes in the form of self-doubt: did we get the editing right, is the marketing set, the advertising completely appropriate?
The short answer is, yes. The longer answer is, I sure hope so.
But, the bottom line is, I can hope forever and still never get it as perfect as I expect to – the sign over my desk reads, “Perfection is our goal. Excellence will be tolerated.” – or I can just jump and learn to fly on the way.
And so, we’re jumping. At 9:00 this morning. And at 9:01, Romantic Shorts is real, alive, and just busting with overwhelming potential – for itself, for me, for our writers, our readers, and everyone else it will touch along the way.
Thank-you to all who have helped so much along this journey. I wouldn’t be here without you.
And welcome to those who join us now, as we embark on a new and exciting adventure.
Alex Brown.
